Park World War II Memorial This memorial on the National Mall stands across the reflecting pool from the Lincoln Memorial, honoring all who served under the U.S. flag at home and abroad during World War II and inviting visitors to ponder the scope of the war that cost 405,399 American lives. Around an oval pool studded with fountains rise 56 granite columns adorned with bronze wreaths and the names of every state, district and territory that sent its sons and daughters to war. Two towers celebrate the Allied victories in the Atlantic and Pacific. Each of the 4,048 gold stars on the memorial wall represents 100 lives lost in the fight for freedom.

Park Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial This four-acre memorial in Washington, D.C., honors America's 34th president, who served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in World War II and led the invasion of Normandy in 1944.

Park Coronado National Memorial In the 1540s, Francisco Vasquez de Coronado led 339 European soldiers and more than 1000 Aztec allies on a quest for gold through the Southwest. The expedition didn't find treasure, but it did have an enormous impact on the culture of the region. The memorial is located in a region known as Sky Island where four major biogeographic provinces meet. As a result, the park features a varied geology and rich biodiversity.

Fact Sheet Support for the Chesapeake "Clean Water Blueprint" In April 2014, NPCA and others filed an amicus curiae, or "friend of the court," brief in support of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the "Clean Water Blueprint" for the Chesapeake. An appeal filed in October 2013 threatens progress to improve water quality in the Chesapeake, and limits the ability of the EPA, states, and stakeholders in every region to work together collaboratively to reduce polluted storm water runoff in streams, lakes, and rivers.
