National Parks Conservation Association ("NPCA ," "we," or "us") respects the privacy of personal information. We want you to understand what information about you we may collect and how we may use, share, and retain that information.
This Privacy Policy describes what information we may collect from you as a visitor to our website located at www.npca.org (the “Site”) and the uses and disclosures of that information that we may make, subject to directions you provide to us. The NPCA developed the Site to provide information about the issues facing our national parks and our work to protect them. The information we collect online is intended to provide information on constituents’ positions as the basis for decisions made about our national parks.
By visiting our Site, you are confirming that you have read, understood and consent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, you should not use our Site or otherwise provide your personal information to us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will become effective upon posting of the updated Policy on the Site. If the changes are material, we will place a notice on the home page of the Site. We encourage you to periodically review the posted version of the Privacy Policy to ensure you are familiar with its current terms.

We collect personal information when you choose to provide it to us, including your name, mailing address, email address, payment card information, and other information that you choose to provide. For example, when you choose to join NPCA, become a member of NPCA, or make a contribution to NPCA, we need to know your name, email, and mailing address. When you make an online payment or contribution, we also need to collect your payment processing information (e.g., debit or credit card number).
If you create an account on our Site or become a member of NPCA, we may also collect your username, password, and NPCA member number. If you apply for a job with NPCA, we may collect any information you provide in your application, including, but not limited to, educational background, employment history, and references. If you prefer not to contribute online, contributions also may be made by printing out this PDF form and mailing it to Member Services, NPCA, 777 6th St., NW, Ste. 700, Washington, DC, 20001, or by calling 800.628.7275 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday.
We may sometimes collect information about you from third parties we work with or through publicly available sources. We may combine that information with other information we collect about you. We do not have any control over the third parties that provide us with your information, including how they collect, process or disclose your personal information.
When you use the Site, we (or our service providers on our behalf) automatically collect some information about you or the device you use to access the Site, such as your IP address, information about the pages of the Site that you viewed, and for how long you viewed those pages. We gather this data using cookies, pixels and similar technologies so we can understand Site user needs and personalize their experience on the Site. Cookies are pieces of information that are stored on your computer to make visiting and using our website easier. Cookies generally help us improve your experience on the Site.
Our third-party service providers assist us by using these technologies on our Site, and they may also collect information about your visits to other Sites and online services over time. We also use service providers to process transactions you wish to make. The types of information our services providers may collect about you when you use the Site include:
Device Information. Information about the device you use to visit the site, including device identifiers, device type, and operating system, if your device settings allow it.
Payment Transaction Information. If you donate online, your payment card information is processed by our service providers, which provide us with limited information about your donation.
Website and Email Use. We use third parties to collect information about your interactions with our website and with us via email. These services use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to measure how users interact with our website and email. We use this information to test and to improve our site, our services, and our communications (including fundraising and marketing), in order to provide you with a more relevant and meaningful experience. For example, NPCA uses Google Analytics to provide analytics services on our Site. For more information about how Google Analytics collects and uses data when you use our Site, visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/, and to opt out of Google Analytics, visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.
Contact Information. NPCA may work with trusted third-party partners that use cookies, pixels, and other technologies to recognize your device across non-affiliated sites over time, and provide us with your email address and/or mailing address from other sources. NPCA may use this contact information to provide relevant communications (including fundraising and marketing offers) to you by direct mail and email. Please contact us as described in the Your Choice and Contacting Us section below if you would like to opt out of these offers from the NPCA. If you would like more information about our third party partners, visit here.
Online Interest-based Advertising. We may partner with third parties that collect information through cookies, pixels and other technologies on our website in order to provide you with ads on non-affiliated platforms. Some of those ads may be interest-based ads, meaning that they are intended to be relevant to you based on the information these third parties collect about your use of our website and other sites or apps over time, including information about relationships among different browsers and devices. NPCA adheres to the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) Self-Regulatory Principles in connection with this interest-based advertising activity. If you would like to opt out of interest-based advertising on your device by companies that participate in industry self-regulation, you can visit optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org. If you delete your cookies or use a different browser or mobile device, you will need to renew your opt-out choices exercised through the DAA tool. Note that electing to opt out will not stop advertising from appearing in your browser or applications. It may make the ads you see less relevant to your interests. Additionally, your browser may offer tools to limit the use of cookies or to delete cookies; however, if you use these tools, our website may not function as intended.
In addition to providing you with the services and information you request and as described above, we may use the personal information that you provide or that we otherwise collect for any lawful purpose.

As described above, we also regularly share Site user information with our service providers, or allow them to collect and process Site user information on our behalf for the purposes described above. In addition, we may share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties:
As part of a proposed or actual sale, merger, or acquisition, or other transfer of all or part of our assets including as part of a bankruptcy proceeding;

As a service to our visitors, we sometimes provide links to other websites. For example, we sometimes promote our corporate partners by including links to their websites and information about them on our website. A link does not denote an endorsement of those websites and NPCA is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.
Our website may also include integrated social media tools or “plug-ins”, such as social networking tools offered by third parties. If you use these tools to share personal information or you otherwise interact with social media features on the website, those social media companies may collect information about you and may use and share such information in accordance with your account settings, including by sharing such information with the general public. Your interactions with third-party social media companies and the use of their features are governed by the privacy policies of the social media companies that provide those features.
