Daniel Howe Daniel Howe is a writer, consultant and part-time professor in the Landscape Architecture Department in the College of Design at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. His many national park experiences include thru-hiking the 2,193-mile Appalachian Trail and cycling the length of the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway.
