Michael P. Branch is an award-winning humorist and writer of place-based creative nonfiction from the American West. His books include “Raising Wild,” “Rants from the Hill," “How to Cuss in Western," and "On the Trail of the Jackalope," and his essays have appeared in venues such as CNN, the San Francisco Chronicle, Slate, Outside, Orion and High Country News. Branch is University Foundation Professor, Emeritus, at the University of Nevada, Reno, and he was inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame in 2024.
