Annie Riker is the former Creative Director for NPCA. She’s currently a freelance illustrator and designer based in Asheville, NC.

When Annie received her BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design, she eased the worries of her family, who feared she might suffer the fate of a starving artist. Before graduation, Annie was hired on at ChaseDesign, a design firm in Central New York, where she worked for three years. She moved to D.C. in 2006, and continued to develop her creative skills in the fast-pace environment of Hirshorn Zuckerman Design Group, a top advertising agency. In 2010, she realized her passion for nonprofits that aligned with her own personal values, which led her to NPCA, and she loved it from the very beginning. She has won several awards for her design and photography, and has spoken to hundreds of creatives about in-house design at HOW Design Live, AIGA, and other design conferences.

In Annie’s spare time, you’ll find her outside—exploring, sketching, taking pictures, and riding her bike. Check out her work at annieriker.com.
