Greetings from Appomattox Court House National Historical Park

Nestled in the heart of Virginia is a place to remind the future generations that the unity was promised and kept, signed and sealed by two brave generals who did see the peace for mankind was needed.

Sincerely,
T.

Appomattox Court House National Historical Park

Appomattox Court House National Historic Park is the site “where our nation reunited.” On April 9, 1865, the tiny village served as the meeting place for two great generals of the Civil War, Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee, to work out the conditions of the surrender of Confederate forces. The park preserves some original and some reconstructed buildings, as well as the character of the original town.

State(s): Virginia

Established: 1930

“I see the importance of keeping this site (just like the Holocaust sites) to remind the future generations to not commit to evil acts, inhumane tortures to fulfill self-interest desire by demolishing mankind's right to live respectfully. ”
