The future of Washington’s grizzly bears hangs in the balance – but you can help! Over the next few weeks, North Cascades National Park staff are hosting eight public meetings in Washington to discuss grizzly bear recovery – and they need to hear from you.
Did you know that biologists with the National Park Service and the Fish and Wildlife Service say we have fewer than five grizzly bears left in Washington’s North Cascades?
Where grizzlies thrive, so does wildness, clean water and abundant fish and wildlife. But we must act now, or we could lose them forever. To reverse the grizzly’s decline and protect this endangered species, our federal agencies have developed plans to recover the grizzly bear in Washington’s North Cascades – one of the few wild places grizzlies can live.
Please review the upcoming meeting schedule and make an effort to show up for the grizzly. With your help, we can make sure that this iconic species is around for generations to come.
