NPCA will host a conversation about the history of the 1969 Stonewall uprising that led to and inspired LGBT communities throughout the country to organize in support of their civil rights.

During the summer of 1969, on the hot streets of Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan, demonstrators gathered in solidarity and protest at the Stonewall Inn and nearby Christopher Park. The demonstration – now known as the Stonewall Uprising – was the first of its kind, a rallying point in history that has since led to and inspired LGBT communities throughout the country to organize in support of their civil rights.
Please join NPCA and partnering organizations for an evening of important discussion on this historic place, this historic event. And please join us in asking President Obama to create the first national park site honoring LGBT history.
