Carolyn Curry-Wheat joined NPCA in 2008 and has led NPCA’s overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of Human Resources (HR) functions since 2019.
A powerhouse executive team leader, strategic partner, advisor and confidante, Carolyn creates and executes the strategic vision of NPCA’s human resources department in alignment with the organizational mission. Under her tenure, Carolyn has focused on creating a welcoming, diverse and flexible workplace, ultimately leading to NPCA’s award-winning status as a Top Workplace by Energage. She has served at nearly every level of the organization during her 16+ year tenure with positions including Recruitment Manager, Associate Director of HR, Director of HR, and Senior Director, HR. Prior to joining NPCA, she served as Senior HR Coordinator with the National Wildlife Federation and as an HR consultant for a national human resource staffing firm for a multi-million dollar federal contract. Carolyn has a Master’s in Education (M.Ed) in Guidance and Counseling from Xavier University.
