My son’s love for the outdoors and career path in forestry began about fifteen years ago when he earned his first Junior Ranger Badge at Mount Rainier National Park. After earning the first badge he began a quest to earn all three in Washington and then started planning where we needed to go on spring and summer breaks. He was six years old at the time. His park badges still hang in his old room. My son is now in college pursuing a forestry degree. He continues to venture out to national parks and enjoy the beauty of this nation. Thank you national park staff for guiding children and their families to the joy of the great outdoors!

Just an hour's drive from Seattle, the park's wild landscape feels much further from civilization.
