Years ago my wife, our best friend and I visited Glacier, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons over two weeks. Having hiked hundreds of miles all over the U.S. over many years, we had never seen the elusive moose, but the Tetons delivered! Not only did we see the dad moose, but we saw mom and child later down the trail, munching on a steep hillside. The park staff were particularly great for this trip, because the park was suffering power outages because of nearby forest fires, and while resources were sometimes limited, they did everything they could to provide an amazing trip! We were never without and had the time of our lives. I may have taken the coldest shower I’ve ever taken in my life there, but I always have those fond memories.
Sincerely,
Grand Teton National Park
This spectacular destination preserves a dramatic stretch of the Teton Range bordering the Snake River. One of the unusual features of these distinctive mountains is the absence of foothills, meaning that there are no smaller mountains blocking the view. The park also features glacier-carved lakes, a historic district of weathered buildings made by 19th century Mormon homesteaders, and an abundance of wildlife large and small, including nearly 1,000 bison that roam the grassy fields in herds.
