Greetings from Mount Rainier National Park

I have many park stories having grown up in Washington State. I’ve spent countless hours hiking mt. Rainier and mt. Saint Helen’s, discovering caves, and enjoying nature. I love our parks and I hope that future generations get to enjoy and appreciate them as well. Now more than ever I’ve realized how important it is to protect our earth and our national parks.

Sincerely,
Kari Ketzner

Mount Rainier National Park

Majestic Mount Rainier is the highest peak in the Cascade Range and an active volcano with more glaciers than any other mountain in the United States. Just an hour's drive from Seattle, the park's wild landscape feels much further from civilization. The forests, parkland, wetlands, lakes and rivers offer 260 miles of trails and varied habitat to dozens of plant and animal species.

State(s): Washington

Established: 1899

“I know the importance of their presence. The national parks protect our natural habitats, what's left of them, and they help to educate visitors about the importance of preservation. We need our parks in order to stay in tune with the true beauty of our earth. ”

National parks represent the best of America. Why do you care about protecting and preserving them? Tell us why parks matter to you!
