Greetings from Acadia National Park

My family first visited Acadia NP in 2015 at the recommendation of friends. We couldn’t imagine that a park on the coast of Maine could be that great. Were we surprised! The beautiful carriage roads, hiking trails, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Jordan Pond House and of course Cadillac Mountain at sunrise, as well as all of the other attractions made it a magical place for us. Two stories that stick out to me are when we decided to take a hike around Jordan Pond after lunch. We took a wrong turn and ended up climbing Pemetic Mountain! It was very foggy at the top, so we decided that the next time we would visit we would climb it again, which we did. The second story is that we always brought our beagle with us to the park because it was so dog friendly. We had a doggy carriage for him, but he would bark and didn’t like to stay in it. So, while leashed, he would run alongside our bicycles on the carriage roads. We always received amazing comments from passerby’s. Our dog is gone now, but I feel that Acadia was one of his favorite places to visit. We visited Acadia a total of five times, as a family and with our scout troop. It remains one of our favorite memories of the national parks.

Sincerely,
Cynthia
