Crater Lake was the first national park we visited during our cross-country road trip last year, and it set an impossibly high bar. My family was completely mesmerized by the caldera—the sheer intensity of the deep, sapphire-blue water looked almost painted against the rugged volcanic cliffs. The kids loved the dramatic rim views and exploring the trails, with Wizard Island standing out like a scene from another world. Huge thanks to all the park rangers for keeping the park safe and guiding visitors every step of the way.
