Greetings from Grand Teton National Park

In 1990 I had my first experience of driving from Lander, WY over the mountains towards Jackson and seeing the Teton mountains. I was in complete awe at the beauty and majesty of the mountains and of the wildlife in the park. After that first trip, I have introduced many of my friends, as well as my husband, to GTNP and its neighbor Yellowstone. Spending time in the National Parks is about getting away from the routine, enjoying the beauty and serenity of nature, and reconnecting with the beauty and magnificence of Mother Nature and with one’s self.

I am so pleased that there were people that saw the beauty and unique qualities of this area and worked diligentlyto make sure this area was preserved as GTNP, John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway, and Yellowstone NP. May “We the People” of the United States continue to preserve these parks, and our many others, and fund them adequately so they can be enjoyed by all!

Sincerely,
Jennifer

Grand Teton National Park

This spectacular destination preserves a dramatic stretch of the Teton Range bordering the Snake River. One of the unusual features of these distinctive mountains is the absence of foothills, meaning that there are no smaller mountains blocking the view. The park also features glacier-carved lakes, a historic district of weathered buildings made by 19th century Mormon homesteaders, and an abundance of wildlife large and small, including nearly 1,000 bison that roam the grassy fields in herds.

State(s): Wyoming

Established: 1929

“They are vital to our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being and are of great economic importance to the country and to the areas surrounding each park.”
