I grew up camping in almost all the American National Parks. My parents were both teachers that had summers off. They wisely thought that traveling through the United States via our nation’s amazing National Parks was a wonderful education for their family. I learned an invaluable amount regarding our different states. The highlight of these camping experiences were the wonderful, informative talks given by the Park Rangers in the evenings (often around a camp fire). History of the land and talks sharing what made that particular part of our country special were priceless. The Ranger’s evening camp-fire chats were truly the highlight of my summers. The Ranger’s were a trove of knowledge, always welcoming and ready to answer any of our questions.
Sincerely,
Bryce Canyon National Park
This popular park is most famous for its colorful hoodoos, and there are more of these artfully eroded spires here than anywhere else on Earth. The area is not actually a canyon, however, but a series of amphitheaters which feature remarkable rock formations and extensive forests dominated with conifers, including ancient bristlecone pines. Together with Zion and Grand Canyon National Parks, Bryce Canyon is part of a geologic wonder known as the Grand Staircase, an immense area of rock with layered sedimentary formations ranging from 600 million to 2,000 million years old.

“They were beautifully maintained and wonderful for our family camping experiences. The Park Rangers were always there to answer questions, share highlights of that particular park and give us a sense of security.”
