Greetings from Redwood National & State Parks

In 3rd Grade I had the pleasure of participating in my 3rd Grade Teachers Wedding which was held in the Redwood National & State Parks over 50 years ago! During my career in Gang Intervention and Prevention, I had the pleasure of introducing youth to many parks and camping beaches. I want to show the youth the beauty outside of their 3 block radius filled violence and negativity! The experience in the beautiful spaces revealed to each one what is possible in their lives! They were not doomed to be violent or to be a victim of violence! I charged each youth to share this experience with their children when they grow up and to make it a tradition that their children will share with the next generation! If the National Parks and Public Lands are sold to private corporations where can the traditions go? DOGE has not been voted on or radified by Congress as an official Government Agency, therefore it is a private Contractor. Why would we give oversight to 500 million acres of pristine untouched lands to a corporation that needs “Rare Earth Minerals” to keep its technological production going? DOGE is private contractor that has the legal issue of openly participating in a conflict of interests illegal activities. By cutting the budget of the National Parks and Public Lands then participating in changing the use of those lands into mines and drilling operations which benefits the Private Contractor’s business and lines the pockets of investors is a “conflict of interest”! Do not sign the “anti-park bills”!

Sincerely,
Carroll E. Hill

Redwood National & State Parks

Redwood National and State Parks protect a primeval landscape where the world’s tallest living organisms, towering coast redwoods, thrive. Visitors can feel small as they stroll in the shadows of these enormous trees and explore rocky undeveloped beaches, fern studded canyons, open prairie, oak woodlands, and fog-filled river valleys. These diverse habitats support myriad wildlife and plants, including several rare species.
