Dollars & Sense of Safeguarding Community Character in the Brandywine Valley

Interested in protecting the special culture and natural character of the Brandywine Valley? Join us for a FREE public event on October 29th where we'll hear from Ed McMahon of the Urban Land Institute.

The program, “Dollars and Sense of Safeguarding Community Character in the Brandywine Valley,” will be held just outside of First State National Historical Park at The Pilot School. Together, we’ll have a chance to learn about and discuss the protection of Brandywine Valley’s community character and natural, cultural and historical assets as a way of driving local economic development, tourism and more.

The evening’s schedule includes:

6 - 7 p.m. Share Fair & Networking Social

Meet and greet local government representatives, staff from local and regional organizations, and community members.

7 - 9 p.m. Public Forum

Learn about the economic, social and environmental benefits of protecting your community’s “sense of place,” as well as the value of preserving open space and historic resources. Consider the challenges to this work and discover the tools that can assist in this effort, such as education, voluntary initiatives and non-regulatory actions. Ed McMahon will speak during this portion of the evening and a Q & A session will follow.

The event is free! Please RSVP.

Please consider sharing this invitation with your friends and colleagues. We are stronger together!
