Greater Rocky Momentum Workshop

Taking a regional perspective, the Greater Rocky Momentum Initiative aims to foster coordination between the various gateway communities whose economies are closely dependent on the national park, as well as surrounding outdoor and tourist destinations.

It will explore approaches with the potential to: better distribute visitation to lesser-known destinations; preserve existing economies and cultures; and relieve pressure on the national park itself so that it can continue to offer treasured experiences to future generations, and serve as a primary local economic driver.

With a goal of creating healthy, vibrant, sustainable, gateway communities, the Greater Rocky Momentum Initiative will take stock of existing and past community development or planning efforts, and share best practices (and cautionary experiences) related to attracting and accommodating visitors and growth, preserving local cultures, and stewarding the region’s defining natural resources.

The $10 workshop fee includes lunch, provided by Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge.
