Celebrate NPCA's history and unique features with real park rangers, family activities and outdoor fun. You can even earn a special Earth Day Junior Ranger badge!
In a world focused on chasing the next best thing, it is easy to forget about the magnificent stillness of our country’s natural beauty. For nearly a century, the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has been protecting our precious landscape and wildlife for present and future generations to enjoy.
NPCA, founded in 1919, is gearing up for its centennial in 2019 by participating at Earth Day Austin on April 22, 2017! With more than 417 national parks sites across the U.S., including 16 in Texas, visitors of Earth Day Austin will find out how they can see these beautiful national treasures themselves and learn how to protect them. As part of the Fourth Grade Every Kid in a Park initiative, NPCA will also be signing up fourth graders and their families for free passes to all of our nation’s parks.

OTHER INFO: From increased bus routes and red line service, to remote parking shuttles, to cycling options and last mile connections, we have many options for getting to Earth Day while lowering your carbon footprint. Thanks to our many transportation partners and especially Rocky Mountain Institute and Capital Metro, this year’s event will be a demonstration of the future of mobility solutions in Austin.
