Tamiami Trail Fact Sheet (1.26 MB)

Tamiami Trail is an unnatural barrier that cuts the Everglades in two in the center of its body.

Everglades National Park and Florida Bay are constantly starved of fresh water when it’s most needed, and polluted water is shunted out of fragile estuaries into the ocean. This process has led to our precious ecosystems being on the verge of collapse and threatens our water supply.
