Whitney Tome joined NPCA in 2014. She focused on enhancing NPCA's diversity and inclusion efforts, and she loves enjoying and visiting national parks.

Prior to joining NPCA, Whitney was a mediator at Meridian Institute focused on ocean issues. Whitney also worked at Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where she successfully launched a professional education initiative for fisheries managers with Duke and Stanford Universities, called the Fisheries Leadership & Sustainability Forum, and orchestrated several state and federal political campaigns on fisheries issues. While at EDF, Whitney also served as the co-chair for EDF’s Diversity Committee including helping to launch several initiatives including the Tom Graff Diversity Fellowship, and the Partnership for Environmental Leadership between Howard University and EDF. Whitney has also won the International Chamber of Commerce’s International Commercial Mediation Competition in Paris, France. Whitney holds a B.A. in Political Science from Middlebury College, and J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
