Qwynne recently graduated with her Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation and Tourism from the University of Utah and is currently working in the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Studies at SUNY Cortland.

Qwynne grew up in Beaverton, Michigan, and thanks to her nature-oriented family and a few interpreters and environmental educators, she developed a strong passion for conservation at a young age. Previously, this passion motivated her to pursue studies and outreach opportunities focused on environmental education, interpretation, and ecotour guiding in the United States and South Africa. Her current research examines the impact national park policy on park sustainability initiatives and on the relationships that exist between parks and local communities.
