Devon Bistarkey is a strategic communications professional whose career has spanned continents and cultures -- from military public affairs roles in Europe, the Middle East and the Pentagon, contributing to the Department of Natural Resources’ storytelling efforts to leading storytelling campaigns for government organizations in Washington, D.C. She currently serves as a Senior Strategic Communications Consultant, helping federal agencies connect with the public through purposeful narratives that advance innovation and public engagement

Devon is also a graduate student at Miami University pursuing a Master of Arts in Biology through the Project Dragonfly Advanced Inquiry Program. Her studies, conducted in partnership with the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens, explore community conservation to ignite ecological and social change.

Located in Jacksonville, Florida, Devon is an advanced scuba diver, photographer, and explorer of Florida’s springs. She’s most excited to join the YLC to help connect more young adults and communities with national parks – bridging communication, storytelling, and engagement to inspire stewardship and strengthen the link between people, parks, and place.
