View Wildlife in Joshua Tree National Park

Whether or not you’ve visited Joshua Tree, it’s safe to say that most people’s first thought when they think of the park is of its strangely beautiful namesake trees. But there’s more plant and wildlife in the park than its name alone suggests – take it from Luke Basulto, a staff member from NPCA’s California Desert Regional Office. With Luke’s help, we developed the video below to share more about the kind of flora and fauna you can expect to see when visiting this desert park.

Tackle Trails in Golden Gate National Recreation Area

Views of the Golden Gate Bridge are just the beginning of what this park on the California coast has to offer! With trails that wind through forests, across beaches and along rocky cliffs, there’s plenty of options for hikers of all experience levels in this park located in San Francisco. Kati Schmidt, an NPCA staff member from the Pacific Regional Office, leant her insight to the video below to inspire you to lace up your boots and take in the natural wonder and history of this urban park.

Cast a Line in Shenandoah National Park

Avid and aspiring anglers alike will have plenty of streams to explore when they try their hand at fly fishing in Shenandoah National Park. With beautiful hikes to the water and a wide variety of fish to catch (and release!), all you’ll need is a steady hand and a few pieces of gear. View the video below to see some tips and tricks we learned from Kyle Hart, a staff member from NPCA’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Office, including a spot you can hike to in the park for a great chance to catch trout while enjoying the park’s dense forests.

Since 2015, NPCA and Travelodge® by Wyndham have partnered to protect and preserve our public lands while sharing information to help you learn about the National Park System and plan your own adventures.
