I reside in Ohio but in 2005 i completed all 800 miles of the Smokies Trails. Upon completion i volunteer and maintain a trail for the last 20 years. I have hiked in 53 of the 63 large parks. I do 25 different power points on the Parks. A comment i make is, after you visit a NP and aren’t in a better place, see your Doctor.

A Park Ranger here not only told us all about the synchronized fireflies, but also how to secure a campsite 6 months in advance in order to have the best chance of witnessing their rituals. It was truly an amazing experience that we would otherwise have not known about.
