Greetings from Rosie The Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park

I have visited and loved my visits to this park over several years. It was my pleasure to share this park with my sister from SF, my brother from LA, my friend from San Bruno and others because it has a profound impact on how we live now -especially the current terrible times we are in. It is with pride I display the poster from the exhibit in my classroom and have stitched the VV patch I purchased on my bag I carry everyday. The park is located on the fantastic quay on the water, is easy to get to, easy to navigate, even a great cafe right there. In an unassuming fashion, the discussion at this park is so meaningful including women, minorities and so many others who have sacrificed, worked hard, risen to the moment and continue doing so for the fair, just and right cause of justice, equality and freedom in our country. The exhibits inform and inspire, the staff always knowledgeable and dedicated.
National Parks are our national treasure.

Sincerely,
em

Rosie The Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park

This national historical park honors the estimated 18 million women who joined defense and support industries during World War II. It also features the SS Red Oak Victory Ship—the last of the 747 ships launched at Richmond, California, during World War II. The Rosie the Riveter Memorial began as a public art project in the 1990s and is sculpted to resemble the form of a liberty ship. The structure showcases photos and quotes from real-life “Rosies,” and a walkway features an inscribed timeline commemorating events from the American home front during the war.
