My parents took me on a road trip there when I was around 12 years old. One memory that has stayed with me ever since was turning a corner in Lamar Valley and suddenly seeing what felt like an ocean of bison stretching across the landscape. Having never seen a bison before, let alone hundreds at once, I was completely awestruck. That was just one of many memorable wildlife encounters during the trip, but it especially underscored the importance of preserving these lands so that wildlife can continue to roam and thrive. I also had many great conversations with park rangers throughout the journey, which deepened my appreciation for the park and its conservation efforts. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience.

Yellowstone National Park
America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.
