Greetings from Yellowstone National Park

My family went on a vacation to Yellowstone in 2017 and it remains one of our favorite family vacations. It’s the first time my children were enraptured with their surroundings and took more photos by far than ever before. The sense of peace and God’s majesty we all experienced will stay with us a long time.

Sincerely,
Melodee

Yellowstone National Park

America's first national park is named after the river that runs through it. Within the park's massive boundaries, visitors can find mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and some of the most concentrated geothermal activity in the world. The park has 60% of the world’s geysers, as well as hot springs and mud pots. It is also home to diverse wildlife with the largest concentration of mammals in the Lower 48 states, including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk.

State(s): Idaho Montana, Wyoming,

Established: 1872

“Yellowstone and other National Parks deserve to be preserved and protected; from sale, from construction such as the border wall in Big Bend, from exploitation and from too many visitors. If they are ruined, it will take a long time to restore them. We owe our children, grandchildren and more the same wonderful experiences that we've had. Future generations may need nature even more than we do!”

National parks represent the best of America. Why do you care about protecting and preserving them? Tell us why parks matter to you!

My husband and I recently took a Road Scholar trip in Yellowstone National Park, and the focus was on viewing wildlife. We saw SO MANY animals (wolves, bears, moose, elk, bison, coyotes, a fox, eagles, and a badger!) Our guides from the Teton Science School knew where to find the…

  • Greetings from Yellowstone National Park

My wife and I have visited many national parks over the past several decades. Our most memorable experience was skiing thru the thermal basin at Yellowstone by ourselves, with no one else in sight. The entire winter experience in the park was exceptional, but this was the most outstanding.
