Greetings from Great Smoky Mountains National Park

A Park Ranger here not only told us all about the synchronized fireflies, but also how to secure a campsite 6 months in advance in order to have the best chance of witnessing their rituals. It was truly an amazing experience that we would otherwise have not known about.

Sincerely,
Lisa

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the country's most popular national park sites. It offers postcard-perfect views and plentiful wildlife.

State(s): North Carolina Tennessee,

Established: 1926

“We have visited more than 30 National Parks with our two sons as they were growing up. Each was a unique and beautiful experience. Thanks to Park Rangers our sons received Junior RangerBadges at each of those parks and both went on to become Eagle Scouts and stewards of the environment. The rangers at each park took the time to discuss the program and all the parks had to offer. They then each reviewed the booklets completed by our sons and performed memorable ceremonies presenting them with their badges.”
