Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I was 5 years old and had what I now know as a spiritual experience when my parents drove into Yosemite Valley through the Wawona Tunnel to start a family vacation. The waterfalls, the cliffs, Half Dome–all combined to overwhelm me with awe. This was in 1957. We also had a lot of fun camping in the Valley and I started a lifelong hiking habit. Now, in 2015, I am retired after a 30 year career managing fires on our federal lands, including a stint in Yosemite. When visiting other countries and seeing their national parks modeled after ours, I am proud of our pioneering legacy.

Sincerely,
Mary

I went with my family for my winter break and had a Blast. It felt like I was connected with the nature. We saw wildlife, water falls, huge mountains and we took some pretty amazing photos. I love this place and hope to visit again!

  • Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I travel to, and paint the US National Parks. I am passionate about conservation in “the People’s” Parks. I’ll be a guest painting teacher in Yosemite where I hope to share shifting color palettes of the Park depending on time of day, weather, and season.

  • Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I don't have a photo, but I finally got to see where my husband rockclimbed amidst such beauty. As we drove into the park, while listening to the music from the movie The Last of the Mohicans, the first view we saw was Bridalveil Falls straight ahead across the valley…
