Greetings from Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Our visit to Great Smoky Mountains National Park this summer was an absolutely wonderful experience. My family visited many places and we would recommend seeing these areas as we found them to be quite enjoyable. Mingo Falls in Cherokee, NC. Chimney Tops, Cades Cove, Roaring Fork Motor Trail, Clingmans Dome and Alum Cave Trail. There are so many trails to hike. Unfortunately I do not remember the names of all the trails we hiked. However we would recommend picking any trail and start hiking as every one we saw had its own remarkable beauty. My family also went white water rafting down the Pigeon River which was fantastic. Also went on an unguided horseback ride up and down the mountain that was excellent. Some of the trails are quite challenging such as Chimney Tops). The park was very clean but even one piece of garbage is one piece too many! So remember to leave the park cleaner that when you arrived! Made lots of great family memories here!

Sincerely,
Dave

A Park Ranger here not only told us all about the synchronized fireflies, but also how to secure a campsite 6 months in advance in order to have the best chance of witnessing their rituals. It was truly an amazing experience that we would otherwise have not known about.
