Greetings from Great Smoky Mountains National Park

I have fond memories of going to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and marveling at the mountains that seemed so tall. Living in Georgia, it was the closest and easiest National Park for my parents to drive to. I remember how beautiful the trees were and how quiet it was, compared to the large city we lived in. I have never forgotten my first experience in visiting a National Park. Every American deserves to have an experience like mine in visiting a National Park. Our National Parks are priceless and deserve to be cherished and protected.

Sincerely,
Sharon

A Park Ranger here not only told us all about the synchronized fireflies, but also how to secure a campsite 6 months in advance in order to have the best chance of witnessing their rituals. It was truly an amazing experience that we would otherwise have not known about.
