Greetings from Glacier National Park

It was our second visit to the park, having been “smoked out” from the wildfires previously. The Road to the Sun is so breathtaking that we had to travel it several times. I took this picture on a perfect day for photography and it now graces our home as a large framed print. As with many of our national parks, any photo falls short of experiencing it firsthand. My wife and I are regular contributors to NPCA and would encourage others to contribute also, no matter what the amount. These are national treasures that MUST be preserved for both present and future generations.

Sincerely,
Van

Cyclone Lookout The notorious hike: five miles, steep uphill. To some, that might seem a piece of cake, but for me, it was scary as hell. Mind you, throughout the school year, I was a sedentary vegetable, probably best described as some sort of tuber. It took 40 minutes of…

Streams carved small gorges on the mountainside as I hiked along the Iceberg Lake Trail on a recent snowy June day. I glared in amazement at the ridges of the mighty snow-capped mountains that stood above me. I understood why Glacier was designated the nation’s 8th national park in 1910.…
