I live near Yosemite but national parks in general have always mattered to me. Below you will find my mission statement. Yesterday I began my mission in earnest and plan to live up to my promise of speading the word.
They call me National Park Gramma and I’m proud of it!
It’s not just because I have seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who deserve to experience the nature that has nurtured us.
It’s not just because I have a picture book series about a Mouse who has learned to teleport to National Parks using a computer keyboard.
It’s not just because I first added a mission statement to my Mouse series well before there were threats to our irreplaceable and cherished parks.
It’s because I promise to devote my remaining years to convincing our world of how much we need these havens. No matter our politics.
Let’s keep it that way.
Please join our NATIONAL PARK GRAMMA Facebook group where we can discuss what’s needed to keep our parks protected.
Sincerely,
Yosemite National Park
