We sat with a volunteer ranger at the base of the castle and he told us so much information we otherwise wouldn’t have known about the NP! It was really interesting and made us appreciate the history more deeply. Later we kept walking and I realized I didn’t have my phone so we went backtracking and the ran into the volunteer who found it where we had been sitting and came to find me to return it! We talked more about the park and he told us about the patch of flowers we were near and how they were used by the native people. The rangers are invaluable to the parks to help visitors in all sorts of ways, but most importantly helping them to appreciate the parks for more than the surface level views.
Sincerely,
