Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I’m old enough to remember enjoying a ranger talk in the Valley, awaiting the total darkness that initiated the original “firefall” from atop Glacier Point. It was a spectacular, though admittedly unnatural event, and caused traffic jams that would do Los Angeles justice. I was still disappointed when I learned of its cancellation, but fully understood. Later, on another visit, I heard a ranger talk about his hike of the John Muir trail, complete with his slides of beautiful sites along his journey; I hoped to some day follow his footsteps on that trail, but unfortunately time and money never intersected for me! Perhaps his inspiration contributed to my wife and I becoming Pacific Crest Trail Angels, assisting hikers from all over the world as they traverse all or parts of the trail between the Mexican and Canadian borders.

Sincerely,
Ted
