I traveled to Haleakala National Park on my honeymoon several years ago. I had no idea Hawaii had an active volcano that gets snow! Travelling up there for sunrise was an unbelievable experience. It just reminded me of how small we are and how important it is to protect the areas that remain wild. I am so appreciative of the public servants and rangers who dedicate their time and life to protecting these lands. I also appreciated that this park was accessible to all with the road to the top. Next trip, I’d like to see a meteor shower up on top!
