Greetings from Great Smoky Mountains National Park

As a native Tennessean, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your service at Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The Smokies have always held a special place in my heart. From the rolling mountain vistas and mist-covered ridges to the rich history, wildlife, and trails that wind through the park, this area represents some of the very best of Tennessee. It is a place I have returned to throughout my life for adventure, reflection, and a deep sense of connection to home.

Because of dedicated rangers like you, millions of visitors each year are able to experience the beauty and magic of the Smokies. Your work preserving these mountains, protecting their wildlife, educating visitors, and responding to countless challenges often goes unnoticed, but it is deeply appreciated. The care and commitment you bring to your role help ensure that these treasured landscapes remain accessible and protected for generations to come.

As someone who loves this area and takes pride in calling Tennessee home, I am grateful for the stewardship you provide every day. Whether guiding visitors, maintaining trails, protecting natural resources, or simply sharing your knowledge and passion for the park, you make a meaningful difference.

Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and love for one of our nation’s greatest treasures. The Great Smoky Mountains are more than just a national park to many of us; they are part of our heritage, our memories, and our identity. Your service helps preserve that legacy.

Sincerely,
Kat
