See Change: Climate in National Parks

NPCA and the European Union are proud to present “See Change: Climate in National Parks,” an evening of art and conversation on the impacts of climate change in our national parks and local communities.

Join us at the Coral Gables Museum for a reception, panel discussion and opportunity to tour the exhibit of 20 large-scale photographic prints depicting how climate change is impacting our national parks.

South Florida climate and environmental reporter Kate Stein will moderate a discussion of how climate change is altering both natural landscapes and urban communities and the need for action to preserve natural spaces, conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions. Congresswoman Donna Shalala will provide closing remarks at the conclusion of the panel session.

Panelists will include:

  • Irela Bagué, Chair, Resilience Committee, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce
  • Sarah Barmeyer, Senior Managing Director, Conservation Programs, NPCA
  • Jim Murley, Chief Resilience Officer, Miami-Dade County
  • Delegate from the European Union, TBD
