Cape Hatteras Beach Cleanups

Join the National Park Service and the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association for beach cleanups this spring through fall.

Enjoy a little sea air while volunteering with park staff at one of three beach cleanups this year.

Event Dates

Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 8 a.m. to noon

Saturday, June 22, 2019 details TBD

Saturday, September 21 details TBD

For the April 13 event, volunteers are meeting at the following locations:

  • Coquina Beach on Bodie Island (meet at the bathhouse)

  • Old Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on Hatteras Island (meet in the parking lot)

  • Day Use Area on Ocracoke Island (meet in the parking lot)

All ages are welcome, but those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and the activity, including closed-toe shoes and hats. Trash bags will be provided.
