Meet with NPCA, Central Oregon LandWatch, Sierra Club Oregon Chapter, Oregon Wild and others at OSU-Cascades’ Edward J. Ray Hall Atrium on Monday, April 6, to learn about how the Roadless Rule protects our national parks and how you can speak up to protect our wild forestlands.
For over two decades, the Roadless Rule has protected nearly 60 million acres of the wildest forests, including those surrounding iconic national parks like Crater Lake. The U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to repeal this cornerstone of national forest policy—a move that will open roadless wildlands to road construction, development, and industrial logging—resulting in significant impacts to park landscapes. In Central Oregon, over 200,000 acres of public lands are threatened.
This repeal process may not include a single public meeting, so our community is hosting our own. Please join us to speak up for our wild forests and park landscapes.
