After thoughtful evaluation, NPCA has made the very difficult decision to sunset the Educational Travel Program at the end of 2025.

Since its launch, NPCA’s Educational Travel Program has brought thousands of members and supporters into some of the most meaningful landscapes in our nation — from hiking trails in Denali to walking across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma. These journeys have not only deepened our collective understanding of our parks but also strengthened our shared commitment to preserving them.

In response to current threats to the national park system — including historic staffing cuts, uncertainty, and funding instability — NPCA is making a strategic shift in how we invest limited time, resources and staff capacity to meet the challenges of this moment. After thoughtful evaluation, NPCA has made the very difficult decision to sunset the Educational Travel Program at the end of 2025. The heart of this program has always been you — the passionate community of members and supporters who believe in the power of place and the importance of showing up for our national parks. We are profoundly grateful for the memories made, the stories shared, and the mission strengthened through your participation in NPCA’s Travel Program over the years.
