Melinda Paduani earned her PhD in Natural Resource Management from Florida International University. Starting her research career wading through the Indian River Lagoon of Central Florida, Melinda became a social scientist and community outreach leader to translate science into action. Now, she hopes to start a career in international science policy.
Outside of her research, Melinda is a mixed-media artist inspired by Florida’s unique ecosystems and a curious home cook exploring her Puerto Rican and Filipina heritage through food. She is most excited about joining the YLC Sun Coast community to better advocate for National Parks in the southeast U.S. and beyond.
