Kaila DeSalvo is a naturalist, conservationist, and environmental advocate with a lifelong passion for animals, nature, and preserving the beauty of our planet. She studied Environmental Science at Santa Fe College and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree with plans to continue on to a master’s in wildlife conservation.

Kaila’s background includes work with her city’s Parks and Recreation department, volunteering at dog and horse rescues, and teaching regenerative agriculture in Jacksonville, Florida. Her efforts center on protecting biodiversity, wildlife, and native ecosystems across her region. She believes conservation should be accessible to everyone and that time in nature plays a vital role in mental health, two ideas that inspire much of her advocacy. Through her volunteer work with the Sun Coast Young Leaders Council, Kaila aims to educate the public on the importance of connecting with local parks, understanding native species, and caring for the natural spaces that sustain us all. She also shares her passion for conservation through writing and photography.

In her free time, Kaila enjoys photography, writing, gardening, and spending time on her homestead with her husband and their four dogs, cat, two ducks, and two chickens.
