Elyssa Goswick is a community engagement specialist and climate justice advocate based in Tucson, Arizona.
She currently serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – AAJC, where she acts as a national liaison between federal civil rights policy teams and a network of over 300 community-based organizations serving Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Her work centers on amplifying local voices, co-creating accessible outreach tools, and ensuring community needs drive national advocacy efforts.
Previously, Elyssa worked as a Senior Climate Engagement Specialist at a government-focused climate consulting firm, where she partnered with local governments across the country to build inclusive outreach programs and strengthen community-led climate action. She helped design and implement ambassador and communications initiatives that brought diverse residents into environmental action—facilitating public engagement, shared learning, and long-term cultural impact.
Raised in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, Elyssa’s passion for climate and environmental work began with childhood camping trips and youth policy organizing. Over time, this grew into a commitment to environmental justice, connecting her background in racial equity, LGBTQ advocacy, and public health with a deep belief in everyone’s right to access and enjoy nature. She holds a degree in International Studies focused in Global Sustainability and Development from American University, and brings a blend of policy fluency, grassroots experience, and storytelling to all of the work she does.
Through the NPCA Next Generation Advisory Council, Elyssa hopes to expand representation in public lands, bridge gaps between communities and conservation, and ensure our national parks truly reflect — and serve — the diversity of those who call this country home.
