My name is Alia Jones, and I'm a PhD student at Florida International University in the Coastal Fisheries Research Lab, where I study the foraging ecology of recreational fish species across Everglades and Biscayne National Parks.

My goal is to work in a role that allows me to conduct impactful research to protect and preserve our natural resources, while also inspiring a passion for environmental science within my local community. In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors - hiking, kayaking, and of course, fishing. I’m especially excited to join the YLC to grow as an advocate for our national parks and to strengthen my skills as an effective environmental communicator.
