Volunteer at The Epic Ride 2016

Support the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, the non-profit organization committed to the establishment, development and long-term stewardship of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.

As part of our Find Your Voice initiative to educate, engage and empower new national park advocates, National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) is teaming up with Brooklyn Greenway Initiative to protect the Brooklyn Waterfront by expanding the greenway.

When complete, the proposed 14-mile landscaped greenway for pedestrians and cyclists will connect neighborhood parks and open spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge, and all the way to New York City’s largest national park site – Gateway National Recreation Area. The Brooklyn and Jamaica Bay Greenways will provide new and improved access to Gateway while encouraging surrounding communities to discover and explore their nearby urban national park.

NPCA is teaming up with the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, Riis Park Beach Bazaar and the National Park Service to co-host the Epic Ride After Party on the boardwalk at Riis Park Beach in Gateway National Recreation Area. After crossing the finish line, participants and volunteers will continue the fun at the Epic Ride After Party where they will enjoy local food and drinks, live music, games and a well-deserved dip into the Atlantic Ocean, all while learning more about Gateway National Recreation Area and the benefits that this urban national park provides to the region.

ABOUT THE EPIC RIDE:

On Saturday, July 23, 2016 participants will ride 30-45 miles along the waterfront’s edge from Greenpoint to Riis Park Beach. More information about the event can be found at www.epicride.nyc
