Hearings on Interstate 11 draft Environmental Impact Statement

Saguaro National Park needs your voice! The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) recently released a draft environmental impact study outlining plans to build a 280-mile highway throughout undisturbed sections of desert, in some areas right on the footstep of Saguaro National Park, located less than a mile from its border.

ADOT will host a series of upcoming hearings on the proposed I-11 freeway, giving park supporters an opportunity to oppose this unnecessary project and support a better, cheaper alternative that isn’t located at the doorstep of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Tucson Mountain Park, Ironwood Forest National Monument, Saguaro National Park and other treasured public lands.

If you would like to voice your opposition at one of the hearings, three-minute speaking slots are available. Speaking is not necessary to attend — simply showing up to these meetings will help protect our parks!
