Cyclovia was established so that cyclists and walkers can enjoy any portion of the three mile car-free, open streets specially closed for the event.
This year the route connects the University Medical Center with the downtown Warehouse District. At various “hubs” along Cyclovia there are dozens of fun educational and family activities. The route includes National Park Conservation Association’s (NPCA) Tucson office in the Historic Y, where we will distribute information about our wonderful National Parks. Come visit NPCA staff and volunteers at our table, and learn more about NPCA’s work to protect these special places – such as preventing new uranium mines near Grand Canyon and working to derail a proposed freeway west of Tucson that threatens Saguaro National Park.
